The first time I made my grandmother’s potato chip cookie recipe was in December 1990. I had created a large batch for the Discover Card Holiday Cookie Contest where the president of Discover and other “dignitaries” were to judge a slew of sweet delights.
Upon my return from lunch with my boss, I found out I won 1st prize! The rewards were a hand-made Christmas tree skirt and some sort of a camera. The other surprise was that my cookies sold to the highest bidder for $100 (money went to charity).
Fast forward, I really never made them again until the summer of 2007 when I was lucky enough to bake at Bulldog Bakery and sell my goods along with the bakery owner’s, Patrick Kaplan, many varieties of baked goods at Chicago’s Daley Plaza Farmers Market. The season was a success and a blast!
Now I’m ready to offer them to a greater audience. I’ll be baking cookies upon order and ship them out next day so you receive your scrumptious cookies as soon as possible!
I do hope to make you and your tummy happy by creating home-made potato chip cookies just like my grandma used to bake.
